Welcoming Adam Chadroff to Equal Ventures

As many of you know, we’ve been looking for an InsurTech “co-pilot” for nearly a year. 

This was an incredibly difficult hire. While we have a deep passion for insurance, it’s not as heavily pursued amongst younger talent, perhaps more tempted by crypto and other buzzier thesis areas. Having interviewed dozens of candidates, we struggled to find someone who had the cerebral horsepower and passion for insurance that we required for this role. 

We are happy to report that we believe we have found that person with Adam Chadroff. Adam previously interned with me at Lightbank while he was at Wharton, after several years of investment banking at Morgan Stanley. He was extremely bright, independent minded and hard working. While he would have easily been able to find an opportunity in the venture industry back then, he chose the path of being an operator, joining Policyenius as one of its first Product Managers. Adam spent 4 years there before joining Counterpart, a digital MGA that has raised $40m from Valor, Vy, Felicis and Susa, as Head of Operations and one of its earliest employees. Adam and I reconnected this summer as he was contemplating EIR opportunities and we discussed the potential of him joining our firm. After several months of Adam getting to know us, our team and our approach, I’m happy to report that he officially came on board November 7th.

Adam’s references all spoke to his incredible intellectual horsepower, tenacity for problem solving and propensity for strong, independent opinions backed by data and critical reasoning - all attributes we value highly at Equal. When speaking with board members at PolicyGenus that had worked with Adam, they were equally emphatic in their enthusiasm for Adam’s potential as both a VC and, in particular, with Equal.
