Over the past few months, we’ve been looking to add Analysts and Associates to the Equal investment team. We were searching for individuals who were smart, hungry, and high-horsepower. Folks who know us best know that our culture at Equal is incredibly important to us, and while many technically qualify for the role, very few meet the bar for what we are looking for. With that, we are excited to share that Rose Majeed has joined our firm as an Analyst!
A native of upstate New York, Rose graduated from Johns Hopkins in May, where she double-majored in Economics and Cognitive Science, graduating in just three years. Rose comes to us having previously worked at Graham Partners (a $5B AUM private equity fund) and gained operating experience at venture-backed startups Jem and Webull. In her last year at JHU, Rose was the Managing Partner of A-Level Capital (ALC), JHU’s student-run venture capital firm and one of the most respected student-led venture funds in the nation. At ALC, Rose evaluated dozens of deals and led diligence on five ALC portfolio companies, including Greenboard and Rebuild.
Our first interaction with Rose came last year, when she was a student volunteer at our annual Climate Capital Summit. We’ve long been impressed by the level of talent from A-Level and often host its team members as student volunteers. Our team has stayed in touch with Rose since then, and we were wowed by her throughout the recruiting process. In addition to bringing a great combination of early-stage investing experience and private equity rigor, Rose demonstrated tremendous humility and a thirst for learning and growth. In her free time, Rose is an aficionado of different workout classes and enjoys portrait painting and drawing.
At Equal, Rose will work as a generalist across all four of our sectors, Climate/Energy, Insurance, Retail, and Supply Chain, where she will support research, diligence, and sourcing as we look for the next generation of category-defining companies.
Please join us in welcoming Rose to Equal!
